This song was inspired by Bruce Springsteen‘s Born To Run. The desire to escape the limitations of life in a small town and to follow the dream.
Verse One
Somewhere out there, there lies and answer.
A childhood dream I long to hold.
Come with me girl, I know that you want to.
Let’s leave this town far behind.
Jump in the car, I’ll make you happy.
We’ll leave our old lives far behind.
Go tell your mother that you love her,
but you need to leave this all behind.
Chorus
We’ll leave this town and we won’t look back.
We’ll make a life that is not too sad.
Get in the car and we will drive.
We’ll leave this town behind
Verse Two
When I’m back their I feel like dying,
people back there don’t understand.
There eyes ain’t bright, no dreams inside them.
I need to leave this all behind
Chorus
We’ll leave this town and we won’t look back.
We’ll make a life that is not too sad.
Get in the car and we will drive.
We’ll leave this town behind
Mid
Get in the car, come on I beg you.
There’s nothing left here anyway.
I told you girl how much I love you,
but there is now way I can stay.
Chorus
We’ll leave this town and we won’t look back.
We’ll make a life that is not too sad.
Get in the car and we will drive.
We’ll leave this town behind

RECORDING NOTES
We’ll Leave This Town was one of the songs that was recorded and part of the Foreign Land album that was produced by Rupert Hine, engineered by Stephen W Tayler and featured on drums Geoff Dugmore. The album was recorded in three different recording studios, Maison Rouge Recording Studio, Nomis Recording Studio and Metropolis Recording Studio. I have yet to get the ultimate recording of this song, I think that it needs saxophone. The lead guitar on my solo demo is played by Mark Shipton
