One of my favourite songs to play. Although it deals with a sad subject there is an element of freedom that comes from the words. When relationships die, you just have to move on.
Verse One
Gone is the trust between you and I,
I get the feeling everything has changed.
This time apart has shone a different light.
You say that you’re happier since I went away
You’re not rushing there’s no more battles.
You’re happy now gone is the hassle.
Verse Two
Its the end, no need to cry.
This is the only way that we’ll survive.
It’s for the best, its black and white.
a blind man could see it and so can I.
I’m in a rush, I want to battle.
To be happy its worth the hassle.
Chorus
Its just the way it goes no need to try,
I think we both lost hope but at least we tried.
Its just the way it goes, I don’t know why.
I think its time to go and live separate lives.
Verse Three
The house is bare, its just a shell.
It reflects the state of where we are.
Memories unfold of better times.
Angry words they leave my mind.
I push too hard you always said it.
I just can’t lay back I need to grab it.
Chorus
Its just the way it goes no need to try,
I think we both lost hope but at least we tried.
Its just the way it goes, I don’t know why.
I think its time to go and live separate lives.
