I used to live with my aunty in Hartlepool, next door to her lived an old lady and I’d often hear her screaming in the middle of the night. She was well over 90 and suffered from Alzheimer’s. It is funny how something like that can be the catalyst for a song.
Verse 1
I hear a woman screaming in the dead of night,
her screams theyt wake me from a long awaited sleep.
Its just another nightmare that I get from time to time,
the price of something from my past I guess.
Verse 2
The crucifix it casts a shadow on my wall,
outside the clouds they gather for a summer storm.
I cannot sleep its much too hot tonight,
oh no I’m lying…
Chorus
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back.
Verse 3
I can’t believe this is the end?
I somehow thought you’d always stay with me.
There’s such an emptiness inside.
I can’t get over you.
Chorus
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back.
Mid
I can’t live without your loving,
I can’t get a grip you know.
I’m crazy, crazy for your loving,
I’m still in love with you!
Chorus
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back, I want you back, I want you back again with me.
I want you back, I want you back. etc..
