The song “Here Comes The Night” was one of those songs I wrote to have two storylines. I wrote it from the the idea of how people prowl the bars at night, looking for excitment, attachments etc, only finding there true selves after work, but I also wrote it from the view point of how a preditor such as a vampire would see the night. Ok I know the line our hearts start pounding maybe isn’t right for a vampire, but its just a song and if you can have a TV show where vampires can walk around in the daylight, I can use that line.

Here Comes The Night A Different Tune

Verse One
Here comes the night, here it comes again.
We come to life, exiles from the day.
Yes we awaken as darkeness slithers in.
Our hearts start pounding as we escape.

Verse Two
From all night bars we hear the music play.
Some strange guitar plays a serenade.
Its all illusion and everything’s for sale.
Some call it evil, some call it strange.

Chorus
Here comes the night a different tune.
A different pace with different rules.
The city lights they call for you,
they call for you.

Verse Three
Here comes the night, here it starts again.
Into the night, I see the people pray.
Its so exiciting, yes its so strange.
Its so inviting, everything to taste

Chorus
Here comes the night a different tune.
A different pace with different rules.
The city lights they call for you

Chorus
Here comes the night a different tune.
A different pace with different rules.
The city lights they call for you,
they call for you.

RECORDING NOTES

This is a new version of an old 404 track was recorded back in 1988. This new recording is the first song to be released with just me playing everything, well almost there is a little bit of guitar by my friend Mark Shipton. I have left the original version of the song within the post as I still love the drama of that version.
